at the moment as thier in i turn out in morning then muck out bring in etc at night monday to friday and at week end if away then the ex(long story )does them. once out I will check in morning and then at night, ragwort groom etc - i love seeing them in morning - it puts biiggggggg smile on face for day :)

I would love to be able to go more than once but there is no way I could manage it! My day is, 7.00 wake up, 8-4 work, 4-4.30 travel 4.30-7.30 pony stuff 7.30-8.00 travel then dinner and bed by 9.30-10, totally full!

Don't have one at the moment, but when I did it was twice a day in winter when he was stabled, and once a day in summer when he was turned out.

Used to be twice but just moved yards so we get morning turn out.

Pet peeve of mine is people who don't check or don't get someone to have a little check of their horses in the morning when they're living out. (Don't take my head off for this one people)

When Koko died if we didn't check him then he probably would have died very slowly and painfully in the field. Luckily we managed to get him to the vet where he got some painkillers.

I work at the yard 6 days a week so im there from 8am-12noon working then i usually ride, muck out etc and either head home at 2 or 4pm and get someone to feed her that night. I dont like leaving her in the field when im not there as theres not always someone around and accidents happen!!

Moved yards and now it's only once a day as me and my mate share it between us with hers and mine. Works out great with working shifts and enjoying a lie in :D

Ditto - and I have known people who only go to see their horse at grass once every 2-3 days.

My H was found in the field non weight bearing with a huge deep gash on his hindleg, approx 4 hours after he was last seen healthy. Even that time was enough for an infection to set in so deeply that horsepitalisation and 3 GA would flushes later couldn't save him. I dread to think about the suffering a horse could go through if they weren't checked on at least twice a day.

Minimum of twice (but then I have to feed and turn out so no brainer really!) but as they are 30 secs from work, I see them all day long:D

I clicked twice as i go morning and evening, in summer when my mum dad are at work and im at school my grandad brings them in at one so in summer three times then an extra time when i ride

Only once at the monent (but there's always someone there incase of any probs) i used to go up twice until i moved further away from stables. Hopefully i can move him closer so i can go back to twice a day.

twice.

if im really busy then its once. but YO always feeds and puts out for me anyhow :)

+ the yards good in the respect that if there was any doubt about my horse i would get a phonecall - even if she looked miseralble/asleep id get a text :D lol!

everyone looks out for each other so ive no need to go anymore than twice :)

The cob my lad is in with maybe see's his owner once/twice a week. The owner of the little mare in the field ... well noone has seen her for 2 weeks. and before then i think it was a good 2-2.5 weeks!

I keep mine at home so I see them several times a day :)
If im away my friend comes up once or usually twice to check them. Unless they are stabled overnight then its 2/3.

Twicw a day 6.30am ansd 5pm but as they are kept at home someone pops out to see if they are ok several times a day.

Twice for my boys, will be just evenings in the summer but there are very competent staff able to check all is well with them in mornings :)

Ours are at home so I keep an eye on them most of the day when I'm about. Actually go out into the field 3-4 times most days, sometimes more. :)

Once a day. As part of my DIY livery he gets fed, rug changed and turned out in the morning for me so I usually just go up in afternoon to muck out, bring in and ride. Sometimes if I want to go ride in the morning I will request that he gets brought in instead of turned out in morning so everything is ready for him when he comes in.

I clicked twice but in reality I am checking them a lot more as they are at home. Hwoever somedays I only actually go into the field/yard ect to feed/ poo pick once a day but I can see them from my bedroom and kitchen window so can quickly see if anything wrong and I also pop up and down there throughout the day to put chickens away and do other little garden jobs etc (and as an excuse to give them a pat and a carrot!).

Therefore my answer is a wee bit skewed. If my horses were diy living out at a different location then I think I would want to go down twice a day to change rugs, check water, for injuries, that they havent go through fencing etc. When we go on holiday someone only comes down once a day to do them and I dont feel entirely comfortable with that.
