my horse is checked twice by us - my husband every morning and me each afternoon/evening.
However he is not alone inbetween - its a busy livery yard and we all look out for each others horses, yos live on site and work there so they see them all the time xxx
Mine lives here at home on the farm, so a great bonus being able to look out and see what he's up to! (not that I always want to know, especially if he's out there playing mud pies like he was today).
Because couple of years ago i went up in the morning to feed and check on him and then i went back later on and he had ran through a fence and cut his leg right down to the bone, if i didn't go up in the afternoon he would of been like that all night and been in loads of pain and it would of got very badly infected
I check mine twice by me, once early morning, then evening (normally do yard duties and ride then)
livery yard turns out and brings in, as my work rota doesnt fit in with the lovely ladies at lesure at my yard, and they also do a 11pm night check
so 5 times a day, but from the hours of 7am to 6pm there is always someone down the yard to keep an eye
only see mine once in winter either to put out or fetch in YO does the other time as mine is out with hers. in summer i will still only go once a day as YO checks early morning and late night when walking dogs i just go up to feed.
I go once a day, he's on livery so they bring him in for me but I muck out, groom and ride. I go every single day come hell or high water!! Only missed out 3 days last year, 2 for when I went to Badminton and 1 when the snow was so bad I couldn't get out of my village!! Hated missing checking him because no one looks after him as well as me!!
He's on a busy livery yard and YO her daughter live there, and my farrier lodges there too!! Conviently!! So the yard is never unattended and horses are always monitored. I wouldn't be happy leaving my horse unless someone was around to be honest.
When my horse was away it was twice a day, but now that daughters pony is right next to the house it is whenever I walk out the door, and twice at night
Twice a day morning and night. I turn her out in the morning and bring her in at night. It can be more depends on the day. But my YO is always going from house to yard so she always passes the field so she checks all is ok when she passes too.
I've got the same situation although it's usually the chesnut that keeps her eye on me. You cannot do anything outside without her noticing and having a good old gander, the other two aren't quite as nosey.
