I am lookinga t putting Flo into foal in spring. The vet gave her the all clear the other week. I have been to see my idel stallion (15hh Grey Arab wiv all round babies and fab personality) but know i should look at more.

How many different stallions should i go and see? I've got 4 more that i like.

As many as it takes for you to make the decision

i went to 2 stud places with lots of stallions and i got the dvd from world class stallions, i took months to make my mind up and went with the first one i saw.

Agree with volatis - if you totally love the 1st stally and he is perfect for your mare, you don't have to look any further...

...on the other hand, stallion-shopping can be quite good fun, and you've got plenty of time, so you might want to look around at a few more, just in case.

Can I be nosey and ask the name and/or breeding of the grey stally you like?

I was very lucky as I found my ideal stallion (for this year at least) only 15 minutes down the road from me (he'd just come over from Holland) but I was quite prepared to go wherever it was necessary to find the right one. I saw probably 20 in all during my search for one of my mare's before this lad came over from the continent and when i saw him I knew he was perfect.
If I were you I would still go and see the others (it can't hurt) because at least that way you can definately rule out the ones you don't even want to give a second thought to. But then again if the one you've already seen is, in your opinion, perfect for what you want then as Volatis says, you need look no further.

All I can add is that if the stallion you have seen ticks all of your boxes, and you just know he is the one, then perhaps you have truly found the one you want and no others will convince you otherwise

I was going to see some others as he was the first one i saw and it's my first time looking for one so wanted something to compare him to. I think i am pretty convinced but want to be positive. I have a cob and an Akhal Teke that are more local to go and look at.

The Arab was in Somerset so was 3 1/2 hours away from me but does AI other wise poor old flo..... his website is www.hartarabian.co.uk

Thanks for your help.....its all very exciting!
