my 3yo filly has devised a new game called "catch me if you can" the last few days i have had to walk her down to get her in and fed, and my other mare ridden, tonight i thought sod it caught the mare and left the filly in the field, not a happy bunny shouting for her friend and running around, she also forfieted her food, they are on restricted grazing so the bloody filly can go hungry......put the mare back the filly come running up to be caught and was promptly ignored! let battle commence, round two tomorrow!!

yes!! i thought that lobbing a big rubber ball at her would certainley make me feel better LOL!!
 
perhaps i can lasso her with the stringy bit?!! or knock her out with the dvd!!

Ah but you see at least your filly decided to be caught in the end, took me an hour to catch my evil biatch. I BLAME THE SPRING GRASS! She has been impeccable to catch all winter but has now decided that there is grass in her field, so it's kill the owner time.
 
LOL shils!!! i've just had another thought...when i finally do catch the bugger, i can hobble her with some of those charm bead things......

Just as many a HHO member will suffer early drowning if they forget to take their jewellery off before a dip, you could utilise the hefty weight of troll beads to slow the fecker down.
I'm not sure that's Parelli...but I feel confident the BHS would approve...I'd contact some Fellows, but I don't want to name drop.

Moving back onto horses not wanting to be caught, I had the 'I can't catch my pony' with THE LOOK on Thursday. I couldn't catch the little f**ker either. Then all the mares decided galloping around like mental freaks was a good game. It always amazes me how the wind suddenly drops when you're shouting threats at them. Mine was 'I'm going to shoot the f**king lot of you' - the whole yard heard. Don't think they've caught the little witch yet!!! (She is very cute looking though).

I have to say - I never noticed the thread titles were changing!!!

Have you considered using a harpoon...now that few nations still whale, you may be able to buy a secondhand one on eBay, or similar...you could fire at your leisure, then reel the desired pony in.
Do remember to keep some antiseptic cream handy though - in case the pony has flesh wounds...
