How much a month?

I'm on 7day full livery but yard is only a few hundred yards from my house, so £450 per month all in (includes bedding and workers). Barefoot and trimmed every 12 weeks or so ... £25. Was on a yard 8 miles away on part livery (full in week, DIY at weekends) so saving around £100 per month on travelling, so not too bad all in all.

In the summer when he eats little more than grass it would be about £100 pcm. That factors in £50 for my field rent, £20 towards shoes(8 weekly £40) and £30 to cover the odd bag of chaff, wormer, fly spray etc.

Winter will be more around £160pcm.

This doesn't include lessons and entry fees. These vary depending on what we do.

I suppose my three small ponies cost in the region of £500-£600 a month on a good month in spring/summer/autumn. During winter one went away on youngstock livery to save the ground and that was another £150 or so on top

There was one month last year when one was away being broken in and needed a new (secondhand) saddle and the horsebox need some work too and that month came in around £2500 which was just horrendous

£135 pm rent for our yard
£60 pm on feed winter, bit less summer
£28 pm on Prascend
£20 pm averaged out on trimming
£24 pm on insurance
£30 pm on hay in winter, less in summer
£15 pm (ish) on supplements

Plus routine vacs/teeth

Plus rug cleaning, but no idea how much that was!

He's gone now, but I'd rather be paying all this and have him back.

I am in agreement with whoever said all of it. My livery for 1 on DIY and 1 in the field averages between £240-300 depending on bedding and hay as I buy from the farm I'm on. Feed is roughly £50pcm for 1 horse, shoes my sharer's contribution covers and everything else is as and when, but I try not to add it up, I just know that's where the rest of my money ends up!
