Hi, I would be greatful if anyone could value these two for me:

Monica - 13.2hh mare, 11 years, loves SJ and XC. Lives out 24/7 purely because she does not like being in, and does weave if stabled all the time, but is 100% in traffic, to be bathed, clipped, loaded etc. Not a novice ride, as can be excitable, but always snaffle mouthed. I never affiliated her, but her old owners did, and she could potentially affiliate again, as she jumps 1m courses at competitions, and bigger at home. Fast against the clock and very careful. Recently came 4th out of 30 competitors with my 11 year old friend, in an 85cm class, but this was after a time off from jumping to focus on her dressage more, and you couldn't tell! Goes much better when competed more regulary, and really enjoys her work. Not a natural dressage horse, but with the right rider, will go in an outline.

Wings - 16.2hh gelding, 10 years, goes in a nice outline and does some lateral work, but needs improving. 100% in traffic, to bath, clip, load etc. Has done BSJA with previous owner, but lost confidence before I got him, so has done smaller unaffiliated competitions, including winning a 75cm class a couple of weeks ago. Has schooled XC over a BE course. He has jumped 1.10m/1.15m courses at home, and 1.35m as a single jump. I think he will be taken to BSJA this winter/spring, then maybe event too. Lives out 24/7, and does windsuck, however does keep weight on well, and only really windsucks after being given hard feed, and occasionally other times, but does not stand there all day doing it.

Thanks very much!

Im not great at these posts but because both have vices it would reduce their value a lot i think.

Also at the moment nothing is selling so i would say 1500ish for the pony (in current climate and with the weaving) if you want her sold, poss up to 2500ish in spring? But then that is just based purley on a guess as i dont have any ponys and havnt had any for a long time (looked at similar online)!

For wings again the windsuking puts a lot of people off due to the more serious problems it can cause i would say 2500 at the moment and up to 3000 in spring? Hope this helps.

I'd agree with previous poster I'm afraid. Neither is a schoolmaster as the pony is not for a novice and the horse has confidence issues, both in addition to a vice. However, if you got the pony out jumping with a good junior bsja rider and she was being placed regularly or had scope for the bigger tracks then she would be worth a huge deal more.

Thanks measles. I think I need someone to take her into bigger classes, because she can jump bigger, just this rider was not that confident at doing any bigger, though she does at home.

Just to add, Monica is ridden and jumped regualarly by this 11 year old, and has been handled by kids as young as 7. I got her when I was 9, so she is definately a children's pony, just a more confident child

That does help, thanks. I thought they might be worth a bit more than that though

That was just my opinion hehe, i do think they will be worth a lot more if you get them out BSJAing or eventing as you said, but i know how hard it can be finding the right jockey!! But if they get some money/double clears at least on their cards people will then often start to pay more in my experience

!
Also at the end of the day a horse is worth whatever someone is prepared to pay, so you may as well start the asking at the price you want and then if you get no interest then lower the price. If you get a lot of interest hopefully you will sell. Good luck with selling them anyways
