We have 2 16.2hh horses that are out 24/7. They get ridden about 5 times a week but all they are getting is 1 scoop of pony nuts with Top Spec balancer once a day. They are both looking really well at the moment.

So what are you feeding yours?

Well we have hardly any grass so mine are getting fed as if its winter still.

My is a bit porky at the moment but he gets 1/2 stubbs scoop of mix and a handfull of applechaff once a day.More so that i can give him his vit, minerals and vinegar. He is ridden 4-5 times a week.

They're out 24/7 so after riding they just get a small scoop of Safe and sound to mix their garlic and supplements. If they're not ridden they get an apple each

15.1 on 3/4 scoop of Hifi and half scoop of nuts once a day

Grazing is pretty good at the moment. He gets ridden 5/6 days a week with one being a competition or a jumping lesson

The youngster gets stud cubes, oil and chaff and the other two get rations owing to their condition, the heavier mare gets a few pony nuts and supplements where as the lighter slightly underweight mare gets full ration of hi fibre cubes (anything else sends her nuts

and as shes gained some weight she's of the build up cubes now), and supplements galore, with chaff and sugar beet.

3 large scoops of alpha-a oil and 5 small scoops of baileys No4 split between 2 feeds. She also gets 4/5 wedges of hay and is out 8 hours a day and you can STILL see her ribs

Thought the spring grass would help cut down my feed bill but has not been the case.

My 16.3 is out 24/7 on OK grass. He is getting 1 large scoop of alfa oil, half scoop economy mix and half scoop speedi beet (unsoaked amount), also Pink powder and 3/4 cup soya oil. He is ridden 6 days a week, I reduce the feed on his day off.

This is half of what he was getting fed 2 weeks ago when he was in at night and out in the day. He used to get the same feed but twice a day.

We feed conditioning cubes, oats and hi fi. All ours are ok. We cut back the oats if they are not doing work - as an idea Bruce does 1 hrs hard work a day, he gets 1 hi fi 3/4 oats 3/4 cond cubes twice daily. I cut back on the oats if he is having time off.

[ets he also gets 1/2 scoop of pony nuts in his ball at lunch and over night, so he does not get bored and rip his rugs off. ]

We have no grass, they get a slice of haylage per day.

Apparently this is too much (according to someone the other day) But he looks great ATM to me....

Scoop of balancer for Winst and Snoop along with chaff and supplements (joint)
Bert is having his Old Mans mix with oil.

Grass is rich, but not in huge supply.

Loads of grass here, so she gets 1 feed a day, consisting of Country Competition mix (half to a scoop, depending on work), level scoop of Hi Fi, cup of BSS and 500g of Ultimate Balancer. Oh and a squirt of Coligone!

At grass all day - gets fed a scoop of cool mix and half a scoop of chaff when I ride him - otherwise he gets nothing....muah hahaha

Thats a heck of a lot split into only 2 feeds! Can you not give n extra feed, about a 1/3 of what you are feeding will just be wasted! My horse is a lanky ribby guy, but at the moment he looks ok even though you can see his ribs he is far from emaciated! He is just a ribby horse! He is 17.1 and he gets 1round scoop of Molichop, 2 rounds scoops of BAileys no9 sugar beet and codlivine, split into 2 feeds. I have hardly any grass and my field is soaked so they are still being turned out in the sand paddock with haynets. Other one is just a fatty, she gets a scoop of Hi FI lite twicw aday!

Nothing! They are all out 24/7, there is so much grass they dont need anything else, just the odd carrot or polo thrown in! Same in the winter, only give them hay when the grass goes (usually only January and February). The only time they get hard feed is when they are wormed and then its just Hi-Fi!

Its quite refreshing to hear that people don't over do the hard feed these days!
My girl is also on minimal feed, I scoop of H-Fi and two cups of Saracens balancer twice a day. She is out during the day and in at night and works 6 days a week. She lives on air as the grass isn't that good yet.

Can split feed into any more as our yard is completly DIY and i work up London.

I have tried everything with her and this is the best i have found so far!!

She doesn't look emaciated either just ribby but the weight is slowly getting there.

God makes my horse look a pig. 2 x alfaA bags stuffed full of haylage, out on poor grass for about 5 - 6 hours. 3.5 stubb scoops of Baileys endurance mix, which we are looking at adding Lo cal and oats for spark

They are all out at night and in during the day.

Hector is having a scoop of hifi, scoop of safe and sound, 1/4 scoop of nuts, cup of BOSS, biotin, and a bute twice a day, oh and four slices of hay when he comes in

Jerry is having a scoop of hifi, and a handful of nuts, cup of BOSS, and a couple of slices of hay when he comes in

Pony is having a handful of hifi and a slice of hay

Practically all of my liveries (and my horses) are on precious little hard feed - there is so much goodness in the grass at the moment that they just don't need it.
the big grey one is on 1 scoop mollichop and 1/4 scoop pasture mix 2x daily and looks great on it. He's in hard work at the moment and just doens't need anymore at the mo

The youngsters r fed year round, the others (older ones ) with no work r turned out on grass now & r not fed.
If I start ridden work they will get 1 feed daily, couple scoops of cheap mix/nuts. all r very well covered, apart from the youngsters which are not too fat or thin..
PS mine r all natives

Archie gets fed alot as he needs to build up weight and muscle, he gets a large scoop of calm&condition, 2 cups of baileys outshine, saucepan full of alfa-oil and two things of pink powder at night. Then in the morning he has half of the above. He only gets turned out every other day and there isnt loads of grass, but enough. He gets a large net of haylage at night and one during the day if hes in.

Bloss on the other hand is getting fat! Shes out every other day too and only has a small handful of high-fi, 1/4 scoop of baileys stud balanced and her linseed for her joints. She gets haylage in the evening but less that archie, same for during the day. She dosent get a morning feed either.

Both are worked 6 days a week.

Mine is out at night on lots of but not great quality grass, about 8kg of hayledge through the day, a full scoop af Alfa A Lite and half a scoop of Allen and Page light comp mix and topspec a day, and garlic and Magic

Mine is stabled at night and on a small paddock with ok grass during the day. He's getting Hi Fi lite and Bailey's Lo Cal balancer (recommended amount for his body weight), supplements and oil divided between two feeds, and ad lib hay over night. He gets ridden 6-7 days per week and is pretty fit - farrier remarked how well he is looking, so I must be doing something right.

He's getting a handful of hi-fi lite and a few (literally!) pony nuts. He only gets fed to get his supplements, big fatty that he is!
