How much bigger than your Mare can the Stallion be?

Hiya! My first post here!
I have a Welsh A x miniature who is 11hh but built more like an average/fine welsh B, however she has a very deep but short body.
I've heard from a lot of people that the size of the stallion doesn't matter so long as they're not too heavily built. I was hoping to put her to a 13hh welsh B in the hope of getting something around 12hh (I know it probably won't work out that way!) But would this be too big for her to carry safely? She just has such a short little body I can't imagine anything very big growing inside her!

The size of the foal will be suppressed by the mum's size. You need to be concerned more with the stallion not hurting the mare rather than the foal that will come out :). That size difference should be fine.

Just want to add, while in utero size is determined by the mare (and nutrition), the foal will grow according to its genetics after birth...
