I'm going to look at a Connemara pony who currently stands at 14.2hh and is 4 yrs old. When he is fully matured at say 6 or 7, do you think he is likely to make 15hh?

Possibly, hard to say without seeing him.

We had an ISH who was just six when we got him. He grew two inches in six months! Our new boy, also six, has grown an inch in six months.

I want a smaller horse!

My Dales mare grew an extra inch between 6 and 7 years old!

I think the natives are slow maturing, don't know if he would get to 15hh though. They do a lot of filling out up until about 8 as well.

Are you worried about him going over height?

My Shire x Tb was 4yo in July...was very croup high (by about a hand) and has suddenly taken a growth spurt by a couple of inches in the wither.
You can maybe tell more easily by looking at the shape of the Connemara - if it is croup high, and low/flat in the withers it may grow more...

It's very hard to say, but I think there is a good chance he will grow upwards more yet. Of course he might just chunk outwards...

Would worry me slightly, if he is definately 14.2 he is max height now for a Connie so nor oom for extra growth.
Also, depends how he has been 'done' as youngster whether he is likely to take a spurt
