So ive FINALLY purchased and moved into my own little slice of equestrian heaven, horses all settled in, got through the snow OK and now its onto bigger and better things!!!

I am looking to put in a 25x45 Menage/Manege ;) .. ive had 3 quotes so far... i would love to know what you all paid for your menages ( i am looking at fencing and sand/rubber surface ) so i know im in the right ballpack and any recommendations you might have and what to watch out for with cowboys!

In situated in the Aylesbury Vale district

Thanks guys!!!

Ours is 25 by 40 - it was £23k, fairly flat ground (seems to be the biggest impact on cost) and good access
We got a good deal as someone local cancelled at short notice (they'd already got the kit/materials on site), I'd called them to say no thanks (as I was going with someone else) the next day they called with a lot off the price.

20 x 40 was £20k BUT this was 15 years ago. It was expensive at the time but worth every penny and there was a 9' difference in levels in the field on which it was built which looked, to the naked eye, pretty flat

Make sure the quotes you are receiving are for the same specification of job. A lot of companies will offer cheaper quotes by making short cuts with the quality of the materials used. Just because it is called Silica Sand doesn't always mean it is suitable for equestrian use ;)

Thanks. How can i tell which silica sand is suitable for equestrian?

ive been thinking of the cost breakdown

How much is a surface? ie a good surface
how much is the fencing?
how much would the person have to pay for a digger?
how much is hardcore usually?
how much is the membrane ?

if i can find that out i can at least find out if the lower quote is realistic or not...
