how much did your baby grow from 2.5 to fully grown?

So my boy is 2 yrs 7 months now and was supposed to make 15'2 as a full grown horse! he is currently 15'2 at the withers and 16'1 at the bum! I got him in feb and he's grown a hand in that time :s

I wonder how much other peoples horses grew between 2 and full grown? Just because I'm going to look at some trailers tomorrow and am now thinking I might need to look at the up to 17'2 rather than 16'2 trailers??!?!

His mum was 15'3 tb and his dad was a 14'2 conny so he's a bit of a freak of nature.

The one I have that's most similar to yours is my 4.5yr old standardbred mare (15hh) x Appleby trotting cob (14.2hh)

At 2yrs 8 months he was 15hh at front and 15.1hh at back. He's now 15.2hh at both ends and starting to fill out and level up properly.

The two pure Dales I have grew 2" between 2.5 and 4.5yrs of age.
 
Think my boy was about 15.2 he's rising 4 now and is 16.1 so fully prepared for him to be over 17hh but would love for him to be smaller. Being a warmblood I'm expecting him to keep growing for some time.
 
My appy x welsh was 14.1hh at 2years 4months and he is now just over 15hh at 5 years 7 months.

My exmoor was 11.2hh when I got her at 2 1/2 and was 12.1hh when I sold her at 4years.

My current girlie is connie x ish. She is 3 1/2 and Is 15.1hh in front and 15.2hh behind and people comment she has a LOT of growing to do. She is really behind for her age. She looks even more immature than yours OP.
Her dad was 14.1hh and her mum was 16.2hh. I expect her to make at least 15.3hh probably more realistically about 16hh.
 
My Lipizzaner turned 3 this year got him when he was rising 2 he was 14.2hh he is now 15.3hh !!! and has HUGE back legs and is bum high!! so will get bigger!!

My SectioN D was 4 wHeN i got Him and standing at 14.2hh he is now 9 and has only just stopped growing outwards and upwards but he grew very slowly and is only 15.hh every horse is different i suppose :D

I thought my Lippi was only going to be 15.2hh at most and hes looking like hes going to be a 16hander!! :O im only used to little ponies i don't know How on earth im going to get on the beastie!! :D

Blimey they are all very different. I'm hoping my boy is just an early developer. When I done the leg measure test thing it made him about 16'2 but know that's not that accurate but what is. Clearly the parents height isn't helpful in my case.
 
Mine measure 146 cm for her grading at 2 and is still 146 cm at 6
She was a very well grown 2 year old though and always well fed she did get stockier as time went on but didnt go up after she was 2
 
My mare was 14.1hh at 2 and a half,shes 6 now and not far off 16hh and shes slightly croup high again!Another one I had was a pony I sold,standing at 12.3hh and now at 5 years old is 14.1hh and he too is haveing another growth spurt. :)
 
Ok you people. Stop with this right now! I have a 2yo that's currently 15.1. I bred her for myself and therefore think she's right on target for the intended 15.3 I bred her for. Dad was 16 hands and mom was 15.2. Previously the mare had all colts for me, racing bred. They all matured over 16 hands but were bigger at this stage. I bred to a small warmblood by Heartbreaker. At my age I was sick of the 16.2-17.2 my other mare was popping out.

From now on its a Connemara all the way as a baby daddy. If I breed again!

was meant to make 16.2 when I bought him,

currently standing 16'2 and bum high! eek. he';s tb x cob. dad (tb) 16.2 and mum (middleweight cob) 15.1. he's gonna be a big lad.

16.2 / 3 would be about perfect for me, a little bigger and i'm not too worried as i;m 5'8 and about 12stone. but this lad is gonna be a monster!!!
 
Mine was about 14.2 at 2.5 and showed very successfully as a 'full up' 15.2 at 4. Now.... haven't measured (haven't dared) but would be the guts of 16.3.

I have a 5 year old WBxTB. I thought TBs were supposed to mature relatively early as a breed and WBs the opposite. My mare is about 16.2 atm and fairly level. Is mine likely to grow upwards any more? :confused:

Her sire was 16.1 and her dam 15.1 (dams sire was 16.3 though).
 
My warmblood was 16.1hh ish at 2yo and now at 3 1/2yo is 17.1hh, i anticipate theres a strong chance she may grow more as well. Very difficult to know so maybe better off buying the bigger trailer and knowing you are sorted? :)

I'm 5'7 so 16'2 isn't too much of a problem for me! but I like my little ones so I can get back on when I'm out if anything happens! theres no way in hell I'll be able to get on anything bigger than 15'2 without a bank to stand on! so looks like our first game is going to be learning to stand next to gates whilst I open them on him haha!

I've only got a couple of K to spend so I've gone for the small one for now and have thought i will save my money and if he does get MASSIVE I will get the bigger version when needed! my other horse is only 15'2 and when I used a friends bigger trailer the other week, so did look a little lost in there! bless her!

My cob mare was around 14.1 - 14.2 at 2 and half - shes now 4 and half and about 15.2 ad still growing/filling out :rolleyes: havent measured her for ages.

My D is around 14.3/15hh at 2yrs 7 months - am hoping he will grow a bit more and chunk up which judging by peoples opinions yesterday he should do
 
My Forester was a very weedy 12.2hh at 2yo. She eventually made 13.2hh but she was about 6 or 7 before she stopped growing+filling out. My rising 4yo is currently approx 11.1hh/11.2hh. She was about 10.3hh/11hh at 2yo, her full brother is rising 3 and 10.2hh at the moment. And my mini Shettie grew a whole inch between the ages of 2 and 4 :D
