How much did your horse grown between 3 and 4? and pics please :)

My youngster is currently 14.3hh in front and 15hh behind and he has been this for about 2 months now grrrr! I am hoping to enter young dressage horse classes with him next year and he has to be at least 15hh so i am wondering if his front will catch up between now and then.
I would love to see your horses pictures :) and how much they grew lol.
Btw he is 1/2 welsh 1/4 tb and 1/4 appy.
 
We bought our TB as a 3yo and she was sticked at 15.2, she was sticked again late into her 4th year and had grown to 16.1, and had also gone up a rug size because she was bulkier but I guess all horses are different
 
Rowy I have no idea but I'm very interested in replies! My mare was 15.1 in February and is now standing at about 15.3. I's really like her to make 16hh+ but not sure. She's Westphalian and I know the warmbloods don't finish growing till later so there might be a few inches to come for us both!!!

ETA She is three as well, birthday is end of Feb.
 
Rowan was born in may and when he was exactly 3 he was about 14 1/2 in front and 14.3 behind. I have given up predicting what height he will make as long as he makes 15hh by next year! fingers crossed he does some growing this winter!
 
bought my westphalian 2 months before his 4th birthday he was 16.2hh and a 6'3'' rug when i bought him 7 months on he is now 17hh and a 6'6'' rug! he still has a lot of filling out 2 do!
 
all this is giving me hope my cob x warmblood will make 16hh he is currently about 15.2hh at just turned 5 last week so here is hoping warmblood will dominate
 
wow, everyone always tells me that i'd be lucky if he made 15hh (being 15hh behind atm) so looks like He may have a lot more to grow! I did do the guestimation thing and it came out 15.3/16hh. I would just be oober happy with 15.2!!
 
PBA - 14.3 at 3 and 16hands and a bit at 4 and 4 months. Rug size has gone from 5'9 to 6'0.
She`s still got maturing to do and is looking a bit bum high again!!!
The plan was to have a nice little 15hands, oh well lol...bugger!:p
 
Very interesting thread for me aswell! Although...nooooo!! My boy is 3 years and 4 months and is 15.1hh warmblood. I don't want him any bigger then 15.3hh but if he follows how all yours have grown I have no chance of keeping below 16hh!! :(
I got him at 2 years and 8 months and he was 14.3hh then.
 
Ish x WB was 15.3 on his 3rd birthday, 16.2 now at 4 and a bit but levelled ou and filling out. He might make 17hh but hoping not!
 
My boy is 2.5 yrs now and 15.1hh.
His dam was 15hh and the sire 13.2hh.
I was hoping for 15hh max as he is a chunky cob, but that's gone out of the window.
According to what you guys have posted he could be 16hh before he is 4 yrs old.

Interesting! I'm selling a 3 year old NF who is 14.1hh on his bum and just a smidgeon under 13.3hh on his withers. I had a prospective purchaser view him last Sunday but she "didn't think he'd grow big enough" as she wants "something that will end up at least 14hh". I pointed out that even if his bum doesn't grow any higher, he's bound to end up over 14hh . . . . the worrying thing was, though, is she is a vet!!!!! You'd think she'd realise how much more they grow :(
 
Oh dear. My arab is 2 years and 5 months and 14.3hh. She should make 15.1hh from the height of her parents... but I think that she's going to be HUUUUUGE and I will be scared as it will be like riding a mountain... :eek:

My vet also was unoptomistic at my youngters height. At 2 years 9 months ish he was approx 14.2 1/2 and 14.3 behind and vet said we would be lucky if he made 15hh. now at 3 years 4 months his bum is a full up 15hh so he is bound to make that at least!

My old horse mac was measured 15.3hh by the vet and he told us he would not grow any more at all which suited us fine. a year later he was 16- 16.1hh!!!!

not sure where the vets get their estimations from as according to this post horses grow an average of 3.5 inches from 3 -4 and an average of 2 inches from 4 onwards. lol

I was more than a little shocked when she measured him at the withers so I asked her why. She replied "that's where you measure horses" so I replied that obviously I knew that but who, in their right mind, measures a 3 year old at the withers?
 
my boy was 14.2hh at 3 yo .Now hes turned four few months ago hes 15.1hh we think vet coming out next week so will ask her to measure properly .Suprised he grew so much in a year tbh had to buy him another brand new saddle and new winter rugs as well a instructor said he could make 15.3 at full height im quite happy were he is at the moment but another two inches dosent really make any differance to me hes a tb x
 
My 3 year old IDXArab has grown at least 2 inches since i got him 4 months agio....and he is 3 1/2 in October. think he will make about 15.3 as ID and Arabs both take a bit longer to mature i believe.. :-)
