I really need some long boots. I've found some that I LOVE, but to get the foot size and width I need, they would need to be 5cm too tall!

Is this too much?

I haven't tried any on as no-one near me has them in stock. I currently wear short boots and gaiters due to fat calves, but omg in the photos last night they look awful, far too low because they have wrinkled around my ankles. Dressage cob ridden by Nora Batty is really not a good look...

I was the same. I was desperate for a pair or Ariats but the adults were just too long. Thankfully the size 4 kids (i am usually a 5) fit me and they are shorter.

I don't think mine have actually dropped? Maybe a cm? But I sent mine off to be stretched so they may have done but I wouldn't have known the difference! Several makes do different lengths, brogini do about five, I think mountain horse do too.

Do they do short / wide in the style you want? Despite being almost 5'7". I need short/wide Mountain Horse boots as I have long things and short calves. The more casual ones I have (High Riders) come in that fitting but my smart ones (Firenze) don't come in the short/wide. I got the wide ones but they were a little tall so I got some heel lift insoles and they've done the trick. They have dropped slightly but nowhere near 5cm.

The heel lifts were about £5 on Ebay.

They seem to do short/regular calf or regular/wide calf. Too narrow or too tall! I must have very odd shaped legs!

I think the only thing to do is buy some and either get a lot taller or a lot thinner :D Never thought I'd say it but I think thinner may be easier...!

A good cobbler should be able to trim them to size. Star Cobblers in Barnard Castle are sort of specialists in riding boots...

I want to say that zipped boots drop 1/2" and non-zipped boots 1" but I could be talking out of my backside.

You certainly wouldn't get 5cm even if you added heel raisers, sorry :(
