How much do part time grooms earn per week?

Hello

I am currently working weekends at a hunt yard..i get £8 per hour...and do around 5 - 6 Hours

all i do is muck out/turn out/brush/lunge/ride/prepare for hunting when needed/cover holidays/ride youngsters/bandage legs/sort out any injuries/Help out at meets anything and everything really it does change each weekend what i do and i do have to be availible at short notice...

I was just wondering how much a part time groom would get...as it is sometHing i would like to get into...is £130 per week aBout average?? for something similiar to what i do already?? for 3 -4 days per week?

£8 an hour??! You're bloody lucky! most grooms are on minimum wage, forever! Don't be a groom unless you're working your way towards someone. It's hard work all the time!

I know very reluctant to leave but due to the owners personal circumstances all jobs are looking doubtfull for next season!

Well i'd like to work on a stud with some form of welsh pony! :D my OH looks after me so i don't mind working hard for 3 - 4 days a week so i can have some pocket money to buy pretty rugs for my ponies :D

I mean is £130 per week too optimistic for a job like this?? for only 3 - 4 days :D
 
We pay our part time groom £10/hour over the winter.

She mucks out two, exercises them once/twice a week to tick them over, turns them out and checks/feeds the others who are living out.

In the evenings she comes back, brings them in, brushes/feeds them and check/feeds the others.

When I was advertising for a groom £10/hr seemed the high end of wages but I think given she is expected to work in the freezing cold and rain over the winter, she deserves it ( and she's a serious asset to the yard, the ponies love her, she's amazing)
 
I have a couple of part-time grooms - one does 4 days a week - 9-5 - and earns £180pw. The other does 3 mornings - 9-1 and gets £25 per morning (she lives less than half a mile away so travel costs are minimal. All my grooms - other than the morning girl who finds my horses a bit big ande a bit bold!) get at least 1 lesson a day: at present, they're getting 2 most days. And they get lunch provided.
 
Cripes £8 an hour :O Shessh I'm in the wrong job, should be doing hunters not breakers then!
I get minimum wage..work 6 days a week, sometimes 7 if the boss is away, and have to available practically as and when required.
 
Wow your lucky! I'm a groom at the moment work 7 days morning and evening have about 3 to 4 hours to my self in the day, I earn about 165 a week! And I even work on Christmas day!

If it's possible I'd stay put, decent horsey jobs are hard to come by. I love my job the other girls are lovely to work with as is my boss the horses are nice and we can have a good laugh. I get paid £120 a week roughly (sometimes less sometimes more.) I could probably find a better paying job but I don't want to I love it where I am and wouldn't change it for the world especially after working in some 'interesting' yards.

I mainly ride but will help out with yard chores if needed.
