just wondering what the "going" rate is. Someone is interested in sharing my horse, and I have no idea what to charge.

Would just be doing hacking and schooling with him, he is not a competition horse by any means!!! Safe and sane though.

Ideally I would like sharer for two days during the week. I was thinking of somewhere between £60 and £70 an month, including for shoes???

What does everyone think?

It depends how many days she would be riding I think.

and if there are any stable duties involved too.

ie is she sharing as in the horse is her responsibility on those days, mucking out etc, or is she just riding the horse on certain days?

my friend shares my horse all she does is ride and muck out for me I do the feeding and bringing in. She pays for the shoes and gives me #70 ever 6 weeks

If it is say 3 days a week, then I would say £15-£20 a week

ll the sharers on my yard pay per day (lots of teenagers!)

They pay £6 DIY, so I think £10 is reasonable per day.

Still if they have 3 days, cheaper than an hours private lesson (£40 around here!)

I share a horse with my friend it is on full livery I have her every other weekend and about 2/3 days per week (pretty flexible) and I pay £210 per month - but she is on full livery !

I only pay for shoeing but then I'm more schooling the horse for the owner so I'm doing her a favour if you see what I mean! £60-70 a month sounds very reasonable to me but then it depends how much your horse costs you. I would work out how much your horse costs per day and charge per day. You can always negotiate depending on how much you want/need her to share your horse.

Remind me never to give up my share... I don't pay anything (only entry fees and transport costs)! It's a bit more "I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine" with us, but I still think I am very, very lucky!
