Hi,:)
How much do you do at the time of year?

I try and get a flat/jumping lesson a week, training show and sometimes a show on the weekend. My mare seems to be really enjoying getting out.
Does this sound ok? Or too much?

We don’t really do that much in the winter maybe a hunt or two, as it’s always snowing... GRR
At the min
Monday -Day off
Tuesday -Hack
Wednesday -small training show
Thursday -have some fun in the school
Friday -Lesson
Saturday -Hack
Sunday Derby/jumping- Only some weeks

Hiya,

Also depends on your intensity such as when i do my schooling i have a level scheme of flatwork where my horse is now starting to do leg yeilding, half pass, pirouttes medium work etc.

I take my Novice mare out competing once every two weeks (eventing) but it doesnt always fit into calender so sometimes i go and do pure dressage or Showjumping but again this is different to my 4 year old as she is only a baby i'm doing unaffiliated.

I also have to keep her fitness up so i go to the gallops once every two weeks or in between an event if there is a big gap and normally at the start of the week before the event.

But your schedule seems good only thing i would say is sometimes mix it up a little insterad of sticking to a plan - although its good to plan ahead i change what i do from one week to the next.

Hope this helps :)

As he is 16 I tend to only do 4 days a week, this is the same most of the year and is made up of 1 x schooling 45mins (occasional lesson), 2 x hacks alone 45mins-1hour, 1 x hack with others generally 2 hours.

We then do the occasional show but don't have transport so have to wait for space in friends lorries. Suits me though, would find it tough to ride everyday and although I enjoy going to shows I do find the bathing, cleaning etc the day before tricky to fit in.

All in all I guess I am mainly a happer hacker, summer or winter, sun or rain, alone or in company.. hack we do! :)

This.

I aim to go 3 hacks, usually a minimum of 2 hours - varying roadwork, woods or the beach.
Schooling x2 for 15 - 45 mins - depending on how she's going.
We go to a handful of shows a year as well.

She is ridden about 5 times a week now, mostly hacking but also includes a lesson, maybe one schooling session (jumping) and a comp on the weekend.

I would ride her 6 times but the hacking is not that great and I get bored. Plus she doesn't need it :)
