I was at home thinking the other day about my horse and how many horse lovers/obsessives around!

What would you give up for your horse ..

Would you give up your partner if a choice had to be made ... ;)

Foxy comes before money, family and pretty much anything. She's my world and there's nothing I wouldn't do for the miserable b****!

Ooh horse or OH...tough one.

Horse probs gives more day to day pleasure but not sure I can live without OH. Or horse.

Depends why I had to choose, if OH said me or horse it'd be the horse!

If it was a case of I could take a bullet for one but not the other...Is it bad that I actually do not know???

Ebony is my life, she gave me my life back and gave me a reason to carry on after the accident. She is my best friend and the love of my life and will always come first and every one knows that, as sad as that might seem thats the way it is.

Obviously love my daughter more than anyone or anything else, but the horse is the next after her, & my child/her needs are the only thing I would pick above her. I've owned her 22yrs, just over 2/3rds of my life & can't imagine life without her.

Before I had my son, horse certainly came first - now horses are close second! If my OH made me choose he wouldn't like the answer! (and he knows it hence he'd never ask!!!)

TBH - if my OH asked me to give up any of my animals he'd be on thin ice - they make me who I am and that the person he chose to marry, hence he knew what he was getting into (the parrot is most visious and will attach OH given any possible opportunity!)

Most of my horses are business assets therefore I make decisions on them depending on what is the most astute business decision, combined with finding the best new life/owner for them. Most are destined to be sold at some time. My personal horses have never been for sale however should money be needed then they would also be sold or given to friends. My horses are pretty well balanced animals and they would be fine in another suitable home. I would not keep any horse at the expense of my family so although I'm very fond of them, I would not go bankrupt over them and I woudl always choose my family above them.

My OH knows the answer so (hopefully) would not ever ask the question! A previous OH was not so wise...

I love my old lad more than anything in the world, and would do anything for him. The others are loved very very much, and there's not a lot I wouldn't do for them either tbh!

I don't have children yet, and am fast approaching an age where I will have to make a final decision either way... one of my biggest fears is having something (someone!!) else in my life that I'd HAVE to put before my boy :o

Thats why I choose not to have children!

My husband would never make me get rid of any of my horses. I am, however, in the impossible situation of knowing that I can't afford to keep both of my full size ones for both time and money reasons and I've been trying unsuccessfully for months to choose between them. I still don't think I can actually do it, so I'm just making like an ostrich and waiting for a lottery win

Have you thought about putting them out on loan to buy you some time?

I had my dog PTS recently but it was a close run thing between him and the horse as to which I loved the most. I probably loved them equally actually but in different ways. I love my horse to bits and she makes me melt just looking at her <over-attached simpering 'mother' alert>

Yeah I've thought about every available option, I'm from Cornwall, moved to Wales a couple of years ago renting a farm with 30 acres, I miss my friends and family and am miserable up here so when the lease runs out on the property next March I'm going home. I have a year, my husband says we can try and make it work with all of them, but I know in my heart of hearts I can really only afford the time and money for 1 riding horse and 1 mini. A few more months of head in the sand yet before I have to face facts

where in Wales do you live?

Ron comes before the OH and the OH knows that, and weirdly he gets it. If money's tight then I'll suffer before I let him suffer, and OH and I would give up our little luxuries so quickly if there was money required for something like vets bills or a new saddle or whatever....

he's the reason I get up on a morning, and keep going to work.

I love my gorgeous miserable sod so very very much - I literally love him as much as my children (but then I've owned him 19 years so he was in effect my first real responsibility)

OH comes slightly lower on the list lol :) (it's ok, he knows it too)

Larry is my life if I did not have him I would more than likely not be here.... :(

He is my world :D and he is more than likely the reason I dont have a partner but who needs a man ;)

Deffinetly the horse. I put him and his costs before anything else. My friends recently asked me what I wanted for my birthday as they had put cash together to get a really nice gift. I told them to pay as much of my vet bill as the money they put together allows. Then they will have done something I really appreciate and its less cost for me to pay back ;)

As much as I love my boy he not more important than a person could be to me.

I find that weird how people could put a horse before a human

I love my horse alot. And my dog. But I love my OH more and if I had to chose then I would chose him. I know he would never ever put me in that position tho. I think it's obv a different kind of love anyway IMO
