How much do you pay for a set of shoes? (for your horse ;) )

£55 for a basic set, + £5.00 for one road nail in each + £5 for one stud hole in each. Prices haven't gone up for years luckily. If reset then it's minus £5.

So I typically pay £65.00 unless having them reset in which case it's £55.00 as don't have to pay for stud holes as well as the £5 off.

£55 for full set of shoes (although I notice that this set has more metal on the seat of corn) and stud holes :)
farrier is excellent - takes as long as needs :)

I pay £78 every 6 weeks (more than I spend on myself) lucky horse, I know there are cheaper farriers in the area but they are not nearly as good. I believe you get what you pay for. :)

£58 for a new set, then £2 per stud hole, so for 8 stud holes it would be £74. He also doesn't charge to come out a replace lost shoes! I love my farrier, wouldn't use anybody else!!!!!

£55 for a full set, no extra for stud holes. £30 for fronts and a trim behind.

My farrier is excellent - polite, thorough, great with the horse and for this I forgive him completely for never being on time ;-)

£68 with stud holes, can't remember how much without... Farrier is gobby, almost always late, but would't change him for the world, he really is excellent cos he is genuinely interested in the horse! He also is a very good remedial farrier if the need ever arose! :D

North Warwicks, £60 a set every 6 weeks, 50p per stud hole so during the summer it's £64 a set (2 holes per shoe).

He is punctual, if he is to be more than 30 mins late he phones. Any problem, i.e. we lost a shoe at a show he will come & refit within 24 hours at no charge. We had a lameness problem & he came out, checked & refitted rear shoes even though they weren't the problem, again at no cost, just to eliminate that as a cause.

I appreciate that some areas are more expensive than others but prices charged does not always reflect on farriers ability. ;)

£75 for a set of 4, no extras & this is in the wilds of Herefordshire. Very good farrier though. I think all farriers vans are Dr Who tardis' as their time runs different to ours , also they can't be reached on the phone being in another dimension & all.

I pay £78 for a full set with 8 stud holes.
£70 for a standard set
£80 for heart bars in front normal behind
£20 for little pony trim
£25 for normal trim

Not bad really and he doesn't rush them either also the horses have never felt better

Also he is fab at coming put for any lost shoes which isn't very common but he will always be here the same or next day!

Also I often need one to have his backs done at least a week before his fronts an he is great at coming when needed and is never late!

£30 for fronts and trim the back

for my previous horse, I was paying £65 for a full set with road nails - with a different farrier

I'm in Cambridge and pay £75 for a set, £80 with stud holes, and £20 for a trim.

I know I *could* get someone cheaper, but my farrier is just fab! :)

Pretty average by the sounds of it- £68 for a full set, £45 for fronts shod, backs trimmed. £1 per stud hole if needed.

Farrier is very good, reliable (even came out to do her in the howling wind/rain that had the Forth Rd Bridge shut last month! Obviously this was likely due to knowing my yard has indoor barn for cover... but still was very impressed!) and happy to try different things to suit. (eg Hopalong has rolled toes on hinds to help ease breakover point and help her move better thanks to previous injuries)

I have stud holes and road nails, mine costs me my sundays.
I taxi him to bsja but since he's my brother i'd prob have to do that anyway :D
