How much do YOU pay for a set of shoes?

£80 a set, as F_M_N said it is the normal for down south. We have had three farriers at the yard all charge between £75-£80 a set.

£55 a set, £5 extra for road nails, £20 a trim for one farrier.
£60 a set, £17.50 a trim from the other farrier - in Essex.

£55 a set of "modified" fronts (Hunter shoes with quarter clips with the toe grinded back to have a rolled toe effect for low ringbone) and hinds with lateral extensions and a FREE road stud in each!! Thats south somerset by the way, and i know my farrier also does free stud holes for others on the yard.

It's the going rate for a decent farrier in the South I believe.

that is rather steep i am minute down the road from you and i pay £75 for shoes allround and any extras i need. however that is for a remdial farrier who comes from miles away to do mine. the farrier before that was only £65 a set.

£60 for a full set and he is a big horse. Trim is £20 with £40 for a set of fronts and a trim. Road nails are extra but I prefer to pay the extra as some of the roads where we are could probably do with resurfacing and I feel safer with road nails.

£70/full set of 4 with road nails and a stud hole in each of the back ones. Been with this farier for a year, he's always bang on time and we haven't lost a shoe in the past year.
