I've been trying to find a farrier to come to new place when i move the pony.

Have been quoted everything from £20 (but doesnt do that area) to (wait for it!) £39.50!

Thankfully farrier I know has said he'll come out, but... wondering if that sort of price is usual??

£20 I think. But he does a number of horses when he comes out

I was paying £15 but my farrier has just moved to cornwall, bugger!! Now having to pay £20. The biggest hurt is my old farrier was only £45 a set and my new one is £70!!!!

£25 for a trim, £70 for a set, £47.50 for fronts and trim behind, extra for road pins and stud holes. and i wouldnt change my farrier for love nor money! even if he runs late and is sometimes grumpy! he does a brilliant job!

i dont pay to get my pony trimmed my farrier does that for free and does her front shoes for free too untill she needs new shoes which get refitted every 8 weeks but for my big lad its a new set at £65 every six weeks usually has to come out more often to put one back on

Fiver for my lickle ones. Tenner for the biggies. He adds on if any are arsey, fifteen quid last time one of my mares decided she didn't want to give him back feet. I love my farrier, great guy and good with the horses.

for the boys it ranges between £15 to £20.For my shetland it can be anything from nothing to £15. I think it must depend what sort of mood he is on the day!

Obviously Essex is expensive. I pay £24 for Chancer - gypsy cob and £30 for Farra, who though is a clydesdale is only just 17 hands and does not have that big a set of feet.

Still he does a good job and always turns up on time and will do Saturdays so I won't change him.

£15, unless it's just a rasp around, when he charges me £7. He does charge travel though, at £15. He turns up early, if anything, though and is coming out tomorrow to help me out, so no complaints, here!
