How much do you pay for bringing in?

Hi there :-) I'm on a small DIY yard and am thinking of asking one of the girls if I could pay them to bring my horse in each evening as I'm finding it difficult to fit two visits a day in and usually do all my jobs and ride in a morning. She's very easy to do and in her own paddock close to the yard. Her stable would be all ready for her and I'd just need some water putting in her feed and perhaps her rug changing. How much should I expect to pay do you think? Thanks :D

Hiya
I keep mine at a small diy livery yard (there's currently only me, two other liveries plus yrd manager) and we all just help each other out. As none of us are happy leaving a horse out on its own, we bring in in pairs whether the other owners are there or not and everyone seems happy with this. Basically, if i can't get to the yard until 6pm, and someone else is there and wants to ride before, they'll bring in their own horse plus mine, and vice-versa. If we have time, we'll always hose feet or switch soaked rugs.

Do check in your contract with regard to paying someone besides yard staff to do things like catching in/mucking out. I know some yards who stipulate in their contracts that only staff are allowed to perform such duties (probably so that they can charge you themselves!)

Otherwise i'd go with £2 per time, seems pretty standard!

I pay £1 a day for brining in, rug off and feed put down (I make it the day before), but on the weekends I bring in the 2 other horses that come in with mine for the YO'er so it's a fair deal.
