But moving them soon

I buy bedding as I keep my fattie in during summer- but most liveries dont really bring theirs in ever (only in emergencies!) so I use 2 x shaving bales a month as my boy is very clean so £12 a month in bedding. What about bedding?? xx
Mines £151.66 a month for one. Individual field, (Brand new!) Stable, Hay & Straw included.![]()
My horses are kept in Essex both cost same in diy stable rent. I have 16hh TB and a 12.2hh Dartmoor each is £38.00 pw livery. My 16hh TB is on Haylage that costs £45 every 2wks and the pony has 2 bales of hay a week at £6 each. I use 5 bales of straw a week between them at the moment (rubber matting and out all day) each bale is £3.00. It is £1 per day to turn out each horse and at the moment that is the only livery service I use so based on a 4wk month mine cost me.
So if my maths is correct I am paying £562 altogether.
Works out £152 per month per horse (I pay 4 weekly) for my stable or £304 for the both
In all honesty a lot lol they dont get short feed and I am a firm believer of adlib hay. It actually works out a little more than that as she gets through a big round bale of haylage every 12 days not 14. She gets 35lb of haylage a night (I was giving 30lb but it was all gone in the morning so I upped it slightly) at about 4pm this lasts her until 9am when she goes out to grass. (till 4) She is defo not overweight at all but she was on poor grazing until 3 months ago so has needed to put on weight. I will drop it if she puts on to much weight but she is 500 kilos a perfect weight for her breed and height I think. She wont eat hay and if given the choice she would rather eat haylage then a bucket feed anyway.
Mines £100 per month.
