As title says what do you pay for skipping out, turnout in/out, rug changes, feet picking, feeding and hay.

My friend is being charged if she has a day off from doing her 15.2 arab, so she needs to know what the costs are. At the moment she is on DIY livery, but does help out with yard owners 2 other horses when she is their.

Thanks

I do not charge my livery because she helps me with my horses.

I would have thought that as your friend helps the YO with her horses she should not be charged for the one day your friend does not do her own.

I would say it is a one for one, helping each other.

Bring in and chuck in stable P/M £1.00, but wash legs, change rug and pick out feet P/M incurs and extra 50p so is £1.50, boots 35p a day, (turnout boots free) , put on and take off walker £1.00, turn out and bring in weekends I think is either £2 or £2.50 each. We get free turn out summer/winter weekdays. Never use this service but I believe that if you are stuck or on holiday then muck out (no extra bedding), water, nets, feed and b/i and turn/out for a day is £8.00 and £24.00 on Xmas day!! Skip out only is approx £4.00 a day (from what I can remember when my horse was on box rest and I was working full time). The solarium is £2.00 for 20 mins (metered). These are all the extra's I can think of for now.

When we were at a DIY yard extras used to be:
Bring in/turn out and change rugs - £2.00
Feed - 50p
Muck out (including filling water buckets and haynets, etc) - £10.00
Exercising - £15.00 per half an hour
Grooming - £10.00 for a full groom
Tack cleaning - £10.00 per set

Hope this helps. :)

I'm a groom at a busy livery yard and stud. We are essentially a DIY yard but with groom service for all extras so we can cater for part and full livery also. Our charges are as follows:
Bring in/turn out (inc change rugs, boots, wash legs, pick out feet) £2.00
Skip Out + haynet + water £4.00
Muck Out (small box) + haynet + water £5.50
Muck Out (large box) + haynet + water £7.00
Part Livery - turn out, skip out, hay, water, feeds & bring in - £7.50
Full Livery - turn out, muck out, hay, water, feeds & bring in - £9.00

We feed all horses on the yard in mornings for free as long as feeds are made up and left in feed rooms ready. On Christmas Day & New Years Day we charge double.

Never have any complaints, always busy with lots of horses to do and all work is done to a high standard.

We also do exercising (ridden & groundwork), clipping, holding for vet/farrier etc and tack cleaning - always complemented on what a good service we offer :)

We charge:

Day Cover: £8.00 (£10.00 for straw beds) this is for everything.
Turnout or Bring In: £1.50
Turnout or Bring In with Rug Change: £2.00
Feet washed/picked out: 50p
Feed and haynet made up: £2.00

Day Livery - m/o, turn out/bring in, change rugs , hay , feed etc £7

Bring in /t/o on own is £2.50 1 way. (that includes washing legs, fly spray, rugs changing etc)

Turnout/bring in - £1 each time inc fly spray, turnout boots, fly mask etc
Rug change - £1 each time for up to 3 rugs
Muck out - £7.50 inc water/hay/feeds
Evening finish off - £3.50 inc skip out, hay, feeds, water
Full day - £12

I think that's right, trusting my memory here though!

£1.00 for bringin/TO with rug change + 50p for nets and feed
£3.00 for skip out nets and water
£4.00 for muck out nets and water
£5.00 for the day which includes groom and anything you have extra for horse e.g. mud guard etc.

Thank you all for taking the time to post, it has been very useful and I will pass the costs on.

After reading the posts, I think the YO/friend!? will owe her money especially as she has to dig out YO`s 2 horses (deep litter shavings) as well as her horse each week....

Thanks
