To look after your horses whilst away on holiday. Ive always worked on yards and looked after odd peoples horses whilst away. What is the going rate now? Thanks
I do a bit of freelancing and I charge £10/day/horse to do everything including turning out, mucking out, getting in, skipping in evening, skipping field, and all other usual stuff like feed, water, hay. £5 extra to exercise horse (hack, lunge or school).
Our yard charges £6/day/horse for feeding/hay/muckout. And 1.50p/day for getting in and turning out, so £7.50/day/horse. Not bad IMO.
£15/week is very reasonable for mucking out and turning out every weekday morning! I assume you're at the same yard as your friend. Wish you were at mine
When I do my friend's horse I have to do my lot first, and then drive another 15 miles to her yard, to do hers. She pays me £15/day when I do this for her and I only go up p.m. to muckout, groom, feed, do nets and soak hay, top of the field water, and get in and rug up for the night. Her YO turns the horse out in the morning.
