How much do you pay per class at shows?

You need to be a little clearer regarding what shows & classes you are talking about. Are you talking of BS shows? BD Shows? or are you talking about local riding club classes?
 
Depends on the venue. Are you just talking about showing or jumping/ dressage as well?

Some of the larger venues can be £12 or £15 pounds, or even up to £20, but at the other end of the scale there are also local riding clubs that are as little as £3 a class for members.
 
Sorry, I meant for qualifiers, eg equifest . In hand and novice ridden.

Reason I ask, is that's one recent show I attended was £4 and another is £9 per class and wondered about the variation, more generally, both qualifiers
 
I do showing. The smaller shows I go to tend to be £6-£8 per class, I know of one show that charges £5 per class. Larger shows are around £10-£15. The most I have ever paid for one class was £32.
 
The shows I organize, showing classes are around £10 for normal classes, £16 for classics (bigger classes that give double points for qualifying). This is in the US though, where most things are more expensive :( For example I have paid $80+ for classes before.

Price fluctuations are probably based on the different rates paid for using different facilities, entries to my shows are lower than others because we own the farm so aren't paying to hire facilities etc.
 
We have just had this discussion at our club, we pay for purpose built show facilities, indoor, outdoor arenas, hardstanding car park, wash facilites, stables etc etc so we are very very lucky BUT it comes at a price and with prices rising so our the costs that are passed onto us, electricity for PA, lights etc etc, water for watering show fields if ground is to hard, diesel for rolling and making everthing good. Rosettes are 3 and 4 tier and come in at just under £2 each, and then judges costs especially with qualifiers, some qualifiers do not stipulate which judges you use, some do for those some of the judges travel along way so their costs can be anything from £30 for half day judging to nearly £100 was the most expensive, add on St Johns at not far off £100 a day. We could just hire a field, have cheap £1 rosettes and have low entry fees, but this is not what our members want. We are a BRC riding club any profits go back into the club which then enables us to buy more equipment etc to improve things all the times for members .
 
Our local show ( with qualifiers) is £5 for members in advance or £6 on the day and an extra pound if non member

So how much per class please do you charge, for qualifiers?
 
South coast - local riding club £10 per class - I am voting with my feet and not going to the show next week as I feel this excessive for a small local club, I am going to a driving show instead where entries are only £5 -£6 per class. I am sure these fees are the reason that the riding club is getting less and less support, surely it's better to charge less and have loads of entries (like they used to) than be just plain greedy and have just a few.....The driving show is always well supported as people feel they get good value. And we have another lovely show about 12 miles away that only charges £6 so that is still cheaper than our local even with a bit of diesel, and the further show is well supported too, says it all really.
