How much do you spend a month on......

I know some weeks you may go without a lesson or a comp but on average how much do you spend a month on riding lessons and competition fees. Just realized I'm spending £150 a month on riding lessons and find it quite shocking.

My little brother just pointed out... why not save that money up and buy a horse that already knows it

When I can afford my lessons regularly, it works out to £140 per month *cringe* but I haven't been able to have one for a while as had mahoosive bills coming in. May not need to pay for an instructor anymore anyway as have a friend who is qualified but likes helping me out in her spare time as she is smitten with my ponio! I am lucky he can be charming when he wants to!!

I try to have one jump lesson and one flat every 3 weeks so usually end up with a total of 3 lessons a month at £25 each. Also often end up doing a RC XC session as well at another £25....so probably nearly £100 a month!!

Competing, probably get out twice a month at about £20 a time for 2 classes, so about £40 - £50 a month. Expensive passtime and I'm not even affiliated!

I try to have around 2 lessons a month and they are £35 a time, ive also got an extra lesson with Emile Faure next month on top of my two at £35 each time, which is £70 - so thats £140 for August.

I compete most weekends, and normally do two tests (affliated BD) which is around £30 a time, so around £100-£130 a month on competing.

I have a lesson every week at £30 a time and at the moment as he is a baby am trying to get out most weekends to show him what life is about and it soon adds up. SJ yesterday at £20 odd, dressage on Sun coming at £20 odd, having a xc lesson in a few weeks at about £40 then a Blyth Tait clinic next month at £60... plus the cost of getting there... no wonder I am always skint!

oh dear, its no wonder i have no money

i have flatwork lessons every week which are £15 a week, and have started having jump lessons, which i will probably have either once or twice a month, and it is £25 for 45 minutes

so it adds up to about £110 a month! maybe a bit less

but the way i look at it, im doing something i love and im always looking to improve my riding, so its worth it. plus if i didnt have lessons ill only want them, and ill probably spend the money on going out all the time and getting drunk

so its best that i spend it on riding. of course if i need to buy something important (which normally involves my car!
