Sorry if this has already been done 100 times before now.
I was just wondering how much you spend to keep their horse on diy livery?
(inc shoes/feed/etc)
Thanks

£2,000 - £2,500 on each horse, without doing anything other than hacking! a year not a week

£20 per week for field and stable but no school..... half decent hacking but supposed to buy a permit to use it.

£70 every 6 weeks for shoes.

£12-16 for wormers every 3 months.

£200 for hay a year and about £100 for feed (good doer with excellent grazing)

£50 per month for insurance inc trailer.

I cant think of any other necessities but sure I have missed off something

Sorry don't want to add it up think I will have a heart attack!

Thinking in region of £250 pm (ouch that hurt typing that!)

ive got such a wierd diy at this new yard- it's £40 a week but included as much as i want of... haylage/hay.. feed (not the absolute cheapest lots of choice) holley shavings or straw, water etc- stable and limeted turnout there is a horse walker huge indoor stables two indoor schools. they're not very big but are ok.. hacking on the downs. but there are lots of rules- as it's at college lol

£20 per week for stable and grazing (no winter turnout tho).
£11 per week haylage
£5 per week bedding (miscanthus)

Includes use of floodlit outdoor school and indoor school when not being used by Riding School. Parking for trailer, full set of showjumps, quiet hacking although mostly on roads.

Additional to this
£50 every 7 weeks for shoes
£35 per month insurance
£20 per year wormer (is wormed twice a year by yard)
£10 per month hard feed
£15 per month joint supplement

anyway it works out at about £180 per month in Summer when living out and £230 per month in Winter when living in.

Doesn't include vaccinations, annual back/teeth check or competition fees. Tis an expensive hobby this

Pure DIY on my yard will be £50 per week, which includes hay and bedding and use of loads of facilities, such as 60 x 40 arena, XC course, 5 mile farm ride, horse walker, solarium, wash room, client's lounge, tack room with individual lockers, feed room, rug room, toilet, shower.

£182 per month livery (stable, grazing, hay, horse walker, 20x60m floodlight school, fantastic off road hacking, lorry parking @ £5 pw)
£18 per month straw
£30-40 per month feed (depending on time of year)
£100 ish every 4 weeks for 'special' shoeing (sometimes stretches to 5 weeks in winter)
£30 per month suppliments (joint and feet)
So about £370 per month (Andy is a 'high maintainance' horse.!), i also spend another £50-80 per month on competitions/lessons which would most likely double during the event season..
