how much do you think he could carry?

i am in no way a light person but i do ride light & he seems more than happy with me on him.

17hh id x tb, 13 years old around 9 1/2" of bone, will remeasure to double check, he is fit , ridden 6 or 7 days per week, long hacks etc.

working on the topline, pics are over a month old, he looks better now, getting there slowly

I'm 11 stone 4 ish and my boy is 18hh he carries me no bother, and OH is nearly 14 stone, and doesn't have a problem with him either. Only trouble with that is OH 6ft 7 so max looks like a pony, lol

Maybe more but it depends on what work etc.

You are poss not getting many replies as people dont want to offend you or they put too light a weight down and then you are upset and feel guilty for riding your horse !!!!!

he could do a good days hunting..ie 5/6 hours with a 15 stone bloke on his back...looks like he could do with it too!!!..as he's a tad porky IMO.

porky is not fat.......


i stand by my original reply...by no means is he fit..but not fat...he could do with a good fitness regime..then he'd carry a man all day hunting.

that is how i would guage "how much can my horse/pony can carry"...as seems to be one of the favourite topics on this forum...

he is fit enough for what his job is
