No, never.
I constantly assess their condition and monitor their individual intakes accordingly but I see it as normal horse care and don't worry about it at all.
I am lucky to have always had horses of a good weight, not too fat or thin and all maintain without much effort.

I'm never not worrying about my mares weight. She is a tbXwb (built like a tb) and everday my opinion seems to change as to whether she looks alright or not!

I would say I am obsessed with my pony's weight. He is a good doer New Forest and obviously being a native if he is overweight he will be more prone to laminitis than say a overweight TB might be. Also not good for his legs and heart and lungs to be overweight either.
I expect most of the other liveries on the yard think I am worried about nothing but I really don't want him to get laminitis and better safe than sorry so he is still wearing his grazing muzzle even though there the grass is more like standing hay. He also has his hay steamed and in a small holed haynet to slow down consumption as well as trying to ride him 5 times a week.
I think with both horses and humans we have got a little bit out of sync as to what we perceive a healthy weight to be and what in theory a healthy weight should be, probably because for a lot of our natives and cobs and for ourselves as well getting down to a healthy weight is so hard.

I don't worry as such as it is what it is. Boys are late teenage hunters who are fit if a little lean. They do their job well and look great. Would prefer a bit more weight but harder as they get older. Cob hunter fat and gets nothing to eat hardly.....she is like me holds her weight well!!!

I have just got my first horse and her weight is number 2 on my worry list, right after her tendency to mug people for food!

My two are living on fresh air and a good balancer this year. I now realise all the over rugging and over feeding has been for my benefit of nurturing the ones I love. It is so great to see how much energy they have, galloping around the fields, enjoying themselves. They now have definition and do not resemble a Krispy Creme donut.
I am really pleased I have stuck to the plan and it is paying off so well.
