£70 plus VAT for everyting it would seem - it was a nightmare last year when the pointers seemed to need shoeing once a fortnight and one needed pads, and that was extra too.......but better this year, possibly going every 4 weeks. Our Farrier does not itemise his bill - just gives me an account for about 3 months worth of shoeing (and we are only talking two horses and the occasional pony) and it always £6-700 !! Argghhh

£70 plus pound per stud hole, one wears egg bars with pads and has to be done every 4weeks, he is £120 a time.

Thankfully he doesnt charge us if anything needs a trim and I think fronts only is £35. We are in Surrey and he is a god, has been out on a Sun morning at 6.30am for a loose shoe on show day and he was enroute to airport! Good man, would marry him if I wasnt already!

In Germany they are awfully expensive..... I pay £100 for Rauti and £60 for Frodo (who is only shod in front). Both of them have standard shoes, nothing fancy.

When I was in Munich the farrier was charging £100 for a refit, £140 for a new set!

Everything else is much cheaper here though.

In S Wales, £50 for 4 new shoes plus road nails. And you can set your watch by him arriving. He's a MWCF and he will come out asap and replace a shoe for free if it comes off between shoeings. Pity he's married!!!!

my farrier has been so good to my poor horse. I would have gladly paid him double for the kindness and consideration he showed lancelot. Thank you Dave .

i've moved around a bit and£60 seems to be about standard. i always though that was a lot but OMG some people seem to be spending a fortune!!!!!£80??!?!?!

£65 for full set £45 for front shoes and trim the backs £25 for a trim or £22 for a trim if he is there shoeing another horse at the same time (Northampton)

£75 for a new set that includes anything i want done in the way of stud hole, road nails ect. he is the best farrier in the whole country imho and i wouldn't let another farrier near my horses feet.
