I am currently looking at a 3 year old, KWPN gelding. He is 16hh at the moment but I am hoping he will grow some more. What height would he finish up at? Also, would a 3 year old grow if they were gelded at 3, more so than if they were left as a stallion? Thanks

Some will grow, some won't. My experience with two brothers, one of which was gelded at a year and the other kept entire was that the gelded one grew more but there again, he was the second foal and they usually reckon first foals tend to be smaller.

Yep - the best you can go on is guess work. I've had pure IDs grow 6" from 4 - even more if they go o Exmoor. ALL my abnormally big 'babies' went to Exmoor at 4 years of less. Gelded young, more chance of growing bigger. I had one pure-bred stallion - 17hh at Grading - and still 17 hh after being gelded at 7. One of his full brothers, who went to Exmoor at 3, has matured at 18.2.
