Can anyone advise me how much, in general, it costs to install a small arena (maximum 20x40)?

Similarly the cost of installing a small horse walker?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi, I had a 20 x 40 arena 3 years ago and it cost £18,000 with rubber and sand finish, never freezes or floods, full drainage in, inclusive of fencing etc. Not sure what area you are from but i'm in the North West so could pass on his number, haven't got the luxury of a horse walker so can't advise on that one. I know people who paid a lot less i.e. didn't have drainage put in but they have trouble with flooding and drainage so would say it is imperative that you invest to have a product that will last many years. Good luck x

my friend did their 60 x 20 themselves, they had all the machinery and know how and it still cost them £20k they were even given the rubber that they have used on top of the sand! so i can imagine to get it done professionally it will be very expensive

My 40 by 30 cost just under 20 k but it's fifteen years ago .
It was a self build we used a local drainage contractor and it's worked very well .
I don't have a horse walker but I suspect it's a how longs a piece of string thing .

Some friends of ours had a 20x40 put in around 5 years ago now and that was £20k. I was doing some research into it a while ago but decided against it because we couldn't justify it yet. If you have a look at the price difference that some suppliers offer, I think a lot of it comes down to a lot of additional requirements etc. Take a look at http://www.claydon.com/ that might give you an idea of prices

Hi ? I’d be really interested in this if you could please pass on their contact details? Thanks!

Mine sand/ fibre 40x20 cost 18k all in, including hard standing entrance, fencing and putting in some second hand mirrors. I used a local groundworks guy and project managed it myself. Professional arena company quoted me 28k

We have just had a 20 x 60 put in with fencing but with a track around the arena and then the fencing (stop them hugging the fence) for about £40k. The drainage is amazing, the surface is carpet gallop and has been fantastic in the weather. The cosmetics were way below what we expected but did I mention we haven’t had a single down day on three surface ?. Thhe long term plan is to get a Waxed surface but as we spent all our money on draining and wonky mirrors it’ll have to wait. I would t recommend who we used however.

Had my Claydon walker for many years - highly recommend them and their after sales service is excellent. I am sure they would send you a price list.
