how much does one section of hay weigh?

hi guys

just helping out a friend , ive took there horse for 2 wks while shes on holiday and shes written in her instructions 5 kilos of hay a day
so how many sections is that?
i got to get myself some scales ?
hes 15 .2 hh throughbred

depends on how big they are, some weigh a kilo, some weigh about 2 - but it varies on the contractor baling/farmer and varies bale to bale.
I used some scales to weigh a section and use that as a rough estimate.

yeah i only meant roughly i gave hime 4 sections tonite im sure that is fine

Impossible to guesstimate as varies so much depending on bale size, density etc as Samuelhorse mentioned. If you get one of those fish hook scale things it will take the worrying out of guessing for you.

yep of to get one 2morrow i think 2 kilo is a roughly one section
