How much do you pay your instructors?

Please could you also tell me what area you are in, whether your instructor comes to you or you go to them, duration of the lesson and what (if any) qualifications your instructor has.

Also, does anyone have specialist lessons, e.g. side saddle lessons, and what do you pay for those?

Thanks in advance!!!

I pay £25 an hour for a private lesson with an BHSI who comes to me.
I also pay an BHSAI instructor friend £20 for about 45 minutes usually, but we would have an hour or longer if the naughty monkey needed it, again, she comes to me.
I have lessons through the riding club which are normally 3 people in a group, usually work out about £15 an hour, but we use various local venues so have to include the hire of these as well as the cost of the instructor, (BHSI or AI) but they are subsidised by the riding club.
I'm in the bucks/oxon borders

I wish my riding club ones were that cheap! Ours are individual only - and 33quid a pop!!! (by the time you pay for diesel and spend all morning/day doing it /traveling - seems rubbish!!!)
(yes i appreciate it may cost them this much - but when i can find it cheaper at home, why bother!)

My Yard Owner is a Badminton eventer (Not sure of the BSHAIRS or whatever level!)
£30 quid for 45 mins (I cant last any longer!!!)

Best money I spend on my Youngster - we always come away feeling great! (bit sweaty mind!)

My instructor (Spacefaer) trained at Talland, is now trained by Isobel Wessels, and only charges £25 an hour - fantastic :)

When the school at my livery yard isnt frozen that is :(

I am on the shrops/welsh borders and go to my instructor, who is an AI, who is experienced in eventing and SJ.

A private lesson costs £25 for approx 45 mins, with clinics with betweeen 3 - 5 in a group cost £15 a head.

Weekly instructor - £10 for an hour and then she'll help me out whenever I need it for free. In return I'll help her with her horses when she needs it.
She's competed up to advanced eventing and being at the same yard she aslo helps with things like brining in L before we get there. She is super! :D

Other instructor is £30 for an hour, we box to her place. She is fantastic and has so much experience (has competed Badminton etc). It's great to go to someone about once a month as they can pick up on the little habits that creep in / notice a bigger difference compared to weekly.

I'll soon be hacking down to a local yard for a lesson with a FBHS Instructor and will be paying 'mates rates' of £20 an hour if I'm on my own or £15 if I'm with a friend.

Can't wait for the school to defrost so we can crack on!

One instructor - ABRS Riding School Principal's Diploma, numerous other qualifications, ran a riding school for over 40 years, £10/hour private.

Other instructor - £20/hour private

£15 for (hour and a half) flat lesson, and she is brilliant -does it in her spare time, although qualified, hence price and shes a family friend.

Jumping lessons once a month -- £35 for 45 minutes

£25 for an hour, or however long it takes for the beastling to behave ;)
Most of time instructor will get on and get a feel for how shes being so she can teach me exactly how to ride her- pony can be a bit of a moo sometimes
Shes a very good show rider/producer and its on the surrey/sussex border.
We go to hers, because its a 10 min hack there so we have time to warm up a little bit, and shes got a nice sandschool.
I dont think shes got any BHSI qualifications at all, but shes a brilliant rider and has experience and can get a good result out of almost any pony you put her on :)
In a lesson, if pony working well we will move onto a bit of jumping, but if not then we will just cencentrate on flatwork. Pony lovesss jumping, wont refuse anything unless shes in any pain or i completely mess up the approach, and any poles down are when i jab her in the mouth because im a fail of a rider and get left behind :o

Love my lessons :D i wouldnt enjoy riding her without them, as me and pony dont always get on (no, i did not want to gallop flat out across that open feild, and brakes would be appreciated from time to time please )

£25 for an hour with a bhsai she does mostly dressage! I don't have a school so go to her yard which is across the road! Have to pay £10 to the owner of the school to use it! So a lesson is costing £35! I'm in Kent.

£35 for 45 mins, with one of the best instructors in south wales. We box over to them. They have an indoor school, big bonus at this time of year. Riding has really improved from thses lessons.
