How much extra work are two dogs compared to one...?

Asking for a friend ;)

We're considering adopting a Setter x that we've seen, now Clover has calmed down considerably! Setter x is 3 and sounds very chill and currently lives with a cat so is cat savvy. Affordability not an issue and our house isn't huge but it has a garden that is fairly big and Clover goes to 'work' every day with OH which new dog could do too. Just musing really and wondering if anyone had any advice!

Well you have swayed me to put the application in :) we have a Skoda Yeti (not mine though, I have a mini!) so plenty of space, plus as she's a cross she's only tiny, about 45cm tall it says on her advert.
Yes it is twice as much poo though! Neville the cat will be furious but this girl has also apparently lived with 5 cats before as well as the one she is currently living with so I am hoping if we are successful that some of her calm vibes will rub off onto Clover 😅

I nearly posted the same thread! Following as we're keen to get a flat coat as a friend for our golden but never had more than one dog at a time...
Looks like you're getting one too then!

45 cm ! Blimey what’s she crossed with ? I agree 2 are not really any harder and definitely keep each other entertained , 3 a bit more challenging but doable .

@Chippers1 have you previous experience of Setters? Two/three/four all fine but two naughty setters together or a setterx could equal trouble. Have a look at some of the setter FB groups.

2 easy, they keep each other company. 3 was trickier, but only because we’ve always had one older with different needs for exercise eventually.

Is it coming from abroad? I know they’re somewhat commonly used as hunting dogs. If so, do check if he/she is clear for leish.

Not sure really! If we do get her then I'd be doing a DNA test, she does look setter-ish but there's definitely something else in there.

Yes we have an English Setter currently :) she's finally grown out of being naughty!

2 is a distant and fond memory.....9 seems reasonable as it's lower than it has been!
9!! where do you find the time :D

Yes she would be coming from abroad so I will check for that if we are given the ok :)

Thanks everyone!
