Hi, I bought my ex racehorse 3 months ago! Hes 16.2 10years old and under weight! I use speedi beat, alfa a oil and D&H bud up condition cubes. He lives out and always had access to hay. Im changing Speedi beet To ready mash extra but how much ready mash cubes and chaff should i feed to put weight on?! Hes currently on two scoops alfa a oil, one and half scoop build up cubes and three soaked scoops beet (swapping for ready mash). Please help!

Why not call the nutrition line of the company whos feed you are going to use? I don't know enough about ready mash to advise

It's difficult to build weight onto anything that is living out I find.

However, I find it easier to put weight on something when feeds are divided into smaller portions , given more often throughout the day. If possible, why not try to provide 3 feeds throughout the day, rather than 2 larger ones.

I know thats the best way small and often but I have a full time job and hes on my farm. We're not at livery and I work rotational shifts. I did have him kept in but hes a very wet horse I was having to fully clean him out everyday and hes so much happier in a field but im going to have to look at which way is going to work best. Everything has advisory feeding guides apart from ready mash. Thanks for the advise though :)
