I never realised how much variation there is between shoeing prices across the country! So following on from the how much for a full set thread, how much do you pay for just a trim? Or fronts only?
HS x

£25 for a trim, £52 for fronts and a trim behind - but to be fair the diesel costs are horrible up here, we're all very spaced out geographically and the last time I had the farrier out (as opposed to the trimmer), he'd driven nearly 300 miles in a day to do four horses.

Was nothing for a trim up till 2 x farrier visits ago.
Previous farrier had a policy of any horse/pony that he had been attending for more than 25 yrs was entitled to free trim (as long as he was doing another horse at same site) which was so lovely, but he's now just retired.

Nasty shock to find new farrier charges £20 for trim :o tho this last visit he only charged me a fiver as was doing big fuzzy at same time & little fuzzy really only warranted a quick rasp on hinds

I think its £47.50 for fronts and a trim behind from my farrier, I will find out in the new year though if I chose to go down the shoe route x Its £25 for a trimm all round

iv just had this done to my mare but her front shoes were re-fitted and that was £40, i suppose it would have been more if i'd have had new front shoes!
im in north wales.

10 for trim only and 25 for fronts and trim behind, feel very lucky having read the other threads:). But then the farrier rarely comes to do one, with trims its usually an age group or a field group so usually at least 10 to be done.:D
