How much for a....

careful tho - you want one that has been responsibly bred - there are alot on the market that are being produced like battery chickens due to their sudden rise in popularity. The breed has such a narrow genepool that you want to be sure it has been produced by a reputable breeder. They all have a rating based on their level of inbreeding. Good luck tho - really like their temperament too!

Agree OrangeEmpire. Please dont buy some of the crap that's out there! Registered Friesian breeders are doing it to improve the breed (unlike some of the rubbish that is bred over here in all breeds). By buying an unregistered Friesian you are just encouraging these people to produce inbred rubbish and looking to land yourself with problems.

Yes I am all in agreement for buying a registered Friesian - what I meant is that it doesn't have to be from the top stallion/potential HOYS winner or whatever... all I mean is my criteria are temperament and soundness (hence registered). Maybe I should have renamed the post!

So sorry to try and warn you of the pitfalls of buying .............You'll be looking at £2.5k for a colt with decent breeding and a bit more for a filly.
