Hi folks, not been on for ages, been so busy with foal which I must post some pictures of. Going to see a 3 acre field tomorrow no water, or electric but well fenced and good grazing. Field owner is not horsey person but has said I can do what I want with it as long as its all within planning regs he has no idea what to charge me per month and I have no idea what to pay. Its in small village in Derbyshire not particularly good hacking but quiet enough for road work, any ideas what I should pay??

I pay £100 per month for 2 acres but have water supply, field shelter, storage, non interfering non horsey owner on site and direct access to excellent off road hacking. Price stays the same for one or 10 horses (but don't think I or the grazing would cope!)
 
I rent 8 acres, stables etc. so what I pay doesn't come into it.

But for the field you describe - even though it's nice grazing and good fencing, the absolute lack of other facilities means I would pay £50 max per month (for the whole field - not per horse).
 
Hi all, thanks for all the advice I have a rough idea now what to offer to pay. Am really keen even though facilities arn't good. The owner is great he has said I can do anything I want as long as I stay within legal boudaries with regard to planning permissions etc. Got to get out of existing yard, YM doesnt speak to me cos I refused to have my mare and foal mixed with the herd. I have the back field, I have to walk through 3 fields to get to it and wait for other horses to be in before I can let out or bring in. I have to set up 3 hoses to fill my water trough so I may as well not have a water supply and I have no electric anyway. YM lets the other horses graze in field full of ragwort. Me and daughter can't stand to see it so we are the ones alway pulling it up. So keep your fingers crossed for me that it works out.

Down here you could expect to pay £75 - £100 per months as it stands.
