We are thinking of taking on a few grass liveys but it's something we've not done before, how much would you expect to pay?? It would include 24hr turn out (with others) with good grazing, field shelter P&R fencing etc, yard is totally secure, horses would be checked 2-3 times a day and ridden/put on walker 3-4 times a week if required.

Thanks in advance xx

(We're in Cheshire)

For just grass livery, on a diy basis, we charge £10 per horse, per week. Use of school/emergency stabling is charged as extra. We are on the welsh borders so imagine Cheshire may command slightly higher prices!

Thank you

MH would £20 include exercise?

I pay £90 per month for grass livery. There is a big field if you like divided into 4, sectioned off straight down the middle and straight across if that makes sense. She has about a 1.5 acre field to herself, field shelter, running water, post & rail fencing. We have a small corale, secure (ish) tack room, 2 stables that you have to pay extra for if you want to use them, a feed room and a rug room. Its basic, we have no menage or excercise area but is in a lovely part of the world...... if my yard had a menage I would be in heaven!!!

I pay £15 a week for a 1.25 acre field and a stable. Horses are not checked or ridden nor is there a proper school, just one we have made ourselves in a neighbouring field. I am in Lincolnshire.

I pay £20 per week. We have a large field with a wooded area for protection. We have use of a large outdoor sand school with show jumps and use of a year round all heights cross country course. It is also an olympic equestrian training facility. I'm in Kent.

I pay £15 per week for my field, it has post and rail and a newly built field shelter, it is also harrowed, so no poo picking!! It is 5 acres and at the moment my two and the farmers horse is on it but in the winter it will just be my two. It's not flat enough to make a diy schooling area though :-(

I'm in Cheshire and have one pony on total DIY grass livery including nothing but field and shelter for £45 a month.

For another horse turned away at the mo, also in Cheshire, grass livery with checks, hay and feed during winter, and optional use of school. £35 a week. Pay extra for yard to exercise or put on walker.
