how much for haylage?

Hi everyone, I have always fed hay or haylage from huge round bales at livery yards - but this Winter I might need to buy the small horsehage bags of haylage. I just can't seem to find a price - some websites say they are bizarrely expensive and others quote ridiculously cheap!
Can anybody help?

Have you checked at your local feed merchants for horsehage, or local Agricultural merchants for small haylage bales.

I think the small bales are usually around £8.00 and horsehage about £7.00ish.

I buy my small bales for £4.75 per bale. It's gone up this year from £4.50. Hope this helps.

It's difficult to source cheap small bale haylage !!!
Buying horsehage from local feedstore works out v. expensive.

For horsehage equivalent throwogoods produce a 25kg bale and I was quoted £4.50 a bale delivered per pallett

I managed to find a farmer about 30 miles away who was able to deliver 35kg bales at £6 a bale so I opted for this

I paid £5 per bale last year, but I know we're cheaper over here as it seems more people are making haylage than hay now. Another livery on our yard is moving back home to Essex in October and plans to take as much back with her as she can as in her new area it will be £7-£8.

We pay £3-4 for small bale haylage and £10 (from a differant supplier) for a round bale. I thought i was paying abit over the odds for haylage but reading some of your replies i wont grumble any more.

i had to buy a few horsehage bales in the other week as only my horse was in so it was pointless in opening a big bale and we were charged £6 for a small blue bale! Found that a silly price!

I got some from Feedmark, it cost around £5.00 per bale delivered, but I did buy a pallet load! Their haylage is high fibre so can be fed to fatties and laminitics with no problem. Hungry Horse Haylage is also arond £5.00 per bale and they deliver (minimum £100 order), but theirs is more of a ryegrass mix, so no good for my cobby types.

£5.5 from the feed shop for a little bale - I have bought 24 big round ones for £25 each delivered. My cob eats a bale a day and with the pony about 1.5 to 2. That means a big round bale only has to last them about 5 days to pay for itself - and it usually lasts for about 10 to 14.
