I was chatting to someone today - she was trying to sell me a horse I think! Not that I want one!

Anyway - 3 yr old, unbroken, 16hh. I'm thinking it's mainly TB with a bit of something else, she says it's got good bone. apparently really good temp but has bad front legs...

how much?? I'll tell you how much she wants after a few suggestions!

How bad? wouldn't pass a vetting or stand up to hard work bad?

Really depends a lot on the specifics and how much potential is shows, but just going on what you've said, I'd say around 1-1.5k

well i paid £1k for Inds and she was 15.2 3yr unbroken, tb x section d. shes got a good temp but was very very green.

I would pay about £800 - £1200 but shes prob looking for over 1.5k Lol

Not sure - she says it's sound - just turns it's front legs out quite badly. She thought it would be a good hunter/allrounder type.

£800... wouldn't buy a horse with leg problems, especially one that's never been under any pressure in work (unbroken) so you can't tell the severity of the problem. So 8 hundred if the legs are bad, perhaps £1k - £1.5k if he's pretty and has nice paces.

Thanks guys - she wants £700 to a good home - she doesn't want to advertise.

Personally wouldn't touch a horse with bad legs, but should be a bargain for someone - if it's a nice horse otherwise.

I think its one of those horses you would have to see for yourself. If you've got a spare 700 and your own land cud be worth just incase it comes up sound all the time, but all seems a bit dicey if you ask me.

Are the legs just cosmetically turning out or is there something really wrong with them.

Suppose that corrective shoeing might help???

Beyond help I think...

Yea - a agree partly but we've ended up with a 15 yr old in our yard - she's got the worst front lets ever and is sound as a pound hunting 2 days a week!!

I would say max 1.2.- 1.5 for me personally if it had talent- but I would not even consider it in the first place unless I absolutely loved everything else about the horse.

If it was a nice companion type and suitable to become a happy hacker, maybe 1200?

Certainly would not pay anywhere in the 2k area. I am looking to sell my own 15.3hh TB X Trakh mare who is broken and whose legs are not splayed and would take 2500-3k for her.

Uhm... It would help if the dam and sire were proven and if the non TB-part was a nice warmblood. And if it all the ground work for backing was done & it was really nice to handle.

If the horse has any other vices or issues that would push the price down too.
