How much (((((forage)))) do you feed a day?

I feed fast fibre.
They get either two slices of small bale hay in am and pm or half a slice of big bale haylage each depending if they need haylage or not....
Living out.

I put hay in haylage nets and double net them so take longer to munch through. Large one each for the big uns overnight, another each in the day. Pony has small haylage nets and I mix hers with straw.

They have small hard feeds twice a day and the ribby fella has a third feed at lunch time with sunflower oil. All on beet and hifi unmolassed in varying quantities.

Enfys no I don't have staff (((((I wish))))) but I live and work on the yard so it's very easy for me to pop hay in and skip out throughout the day.

I did once find some of that yellow stuff growing but I pulled it out and burnt it - oh dear.

Aha, there you go then that makes it easier I had visions of a bell ringing and you having to leap up, drop what you were doing and run out to deliver more hay.

Many yards that keep horses in most of the time here have the same sort of little and often system.
