13.1 Exmoor x Welsh D mare in light work, generally good condition, not fat, but not lean.
How much Happy Hoof should i be giving her per day?
Thanks! x
Depends why you are feeding the Happy Hoof! If you are feeding it for the vit/min content then you need to feed the amount the manufacturers recommend for the size of pony - either look on the bag or ring Spillers' helpline.
To be honest though, a pony of that size in light work who maintains the correct condition easily shouldn't actually need more than good grazing or hay/haylage. A vit/min supplement can be given in a handful of chaff if you want to be certain that she gets all her micro-nutrients.
She does have a little trouble maintaining her weight though sadly..as shes native. Our grass is absolutely rubbish so shes not getting anything from that.
I'll give Spillers a ring!

Well if you are feeding her Happy Hoof to maintain weight, you will actually get much better value for money giving her good quality hay or haylage instead! (Obviously Spillers won't tell you that though!
There will have feeding recommendations on the bag, and that will be so you get all the recommended vits & mins too. But if you're struggling to keep condition maybe move to a different, alfa-based chaff and add a gen-purpose supplement or balancer to make sure she gets all she needs?
