sorry for another 'how much' post!

but how much would you pay for a horse like this...

10 year old, 16hh Tb X good bloodlines and has got a good jump up to about 3ft6 courses, yet is very stubborn does not go on outline, pigeon-toed so trips quite a bit, bolts, bronchos and bucks and small rears, needs a lot of exercise to stop him from being badly behaved, not always badly behaved thou, quite spooky espec on roads ??

if he's a proper bolter, I think in addition to all his other faults then he needs PTS.

Otherwise, meat money... you can get an off-the-track good hacker who's not going to kill you for £500 so I don't think you can reasonably ask as much as that for the horse.

he will only bolt badly in open fields so it isnt absolutely awful...

He can be an amazing horse I think just needs a lot of work..
the owner wants a ridiculous amount of the money because of his bloodlines but to be honest she wont get it because no-one will enjoy and want to ride him.. thanks for suggestions thou x

^ it sounds like he's a 'bugger off'-er rather than a bolter?
Honestly, though, i think there's an underlying pain issue which makes it difficult for him to work in an outline and carry himself properly, and it sounds like he's consistently on the forehand if he takes off and is difficult to stop & trips over his own feet.

Can't say without knowing the horse though.

in the current climate, i'd suggest she gives him away to a home she can vet and make sure they are aware of his 'issues'. that way she'll make sure he gets a decent home, as money wise, she'd have to lie about those vices to get any decent kind of amount for him.

soz. x

because its a gelding bloodline doesn't mean jack. i would say she would have to give it away or for a nominal amount to a good experienced home.

its a gelding so bloodlines dont make any difference!! even if it was a mare with good bloodlines if its that difficult it wudnt be bred from anyway.

Has teeth, back and tack been checked??
