How much hay to give... large 4 ft bales

I usually feed the conventional small bales of hay, however I have been delivered a large 4ft bale this time instead. I don't usually weigh my hay and usually feed approx 4 slices of the small hay at night and keep an eye on weight and amend accordingly. So how much of the large bale should I be giving??? I don't have any weighing scales so thought I would ask to see what others give?
I gave one slice of it last night and lots was left his morning so I am not sure if I have given too much or if she is being fussy with the hay.

I use big bales and find the slices vary from bale to bale, some come off easily and I would say 1 is about 4 sections from an average small bale, if she has left some it is either because it is a bit more than normal or that it doesn't taste quite the same , I would stick to about the same and see how it goes over the next few days it is supposed to get colder so better she has a little more than not enough.

I weigh all mine, always, but a good BIG armful of hay off a big bale is about equivalent to one slice of a small bale.
