How much (hypothetically)

You say happy hacker, so i'm assuming that it has confirmation faults and no good for jumping and competing. So I would say about £1800. How ever if it has good confirmation but hasnt done a lot then probably £3000. This is assuming it doesnt have any vices and is good tempered..
Write down all the good things about it and all the bad things and that should give you a good idea of what it is worth to you.. Bit difficult really without seeing the Arab...

What an extraordinary thing to say

Not really amymay, you could sell something with potential to show and compete but if confirmation is bad or has an old injury etc it really may only be good for hacking and therefore should be sold as such.

would you pay for an Arab, 7 - 10 y/o, 15hh, happy hacker and bombproof?

Depends what it's done - if it hasn't donw much and would need lots of schooling etc to get it ot competition standard then I wouldn't want to pay more than about £2500, however, if it's ready to go just needs a bit of fine tuning I'd be happy to pay between £3000 and £5000 depending on breeding etc

i agree with amymay - what a wierd thing to say. So you are saying that every horse thats sold as a 'happy hacker' has conformation problems and cant jump? My mare was sold to me as a 'happy hacker' and she now competes medium BD.

excuse me for being totally blonde but aren't horses that are happy hackers such because that is what their owners choose for them? I wouldn't have thought happy hackers had confo problems as I would imagine a lot of people either don't want to compete or can't afford to! And as for not jumping surely again that's the owners choice?

now i'm wondering if i should take my 'happy hacker' description off my signature, as again - he can do more, but had been used for mainly hacking before i got him and thats what he really enjoys - his confomation is fab!

back to the arab thou - is the arab a registered arab? is so would depend on bloodlines, would prob say £1500 plus depending on breeding etc.

If it is of sound mind and nature, it can be sold as "happy hacker with potential to go further in whatever"

if it has problems and can only hack (such as a horse I know with a suspensory ligamen issue) then he can only be sold as a happy hacker.
