As title really

I havent bought a bale in absolutely years, so wondered what prices are like, it used to be about 1.50-2.00 a bale when i used to get it, doubt its much different in price now

So what do you pay for a bale?

Thanks in advance

You can still find straw at £2 a bale but Ive seen it advertised at £4 so shop around!

Just to show my age I remember it being 60p a bale off the field!

We got a load at the begining of the winter for £2.50 delivered. It is really dust free as my mare who would normally cough just looking at a blade of straw has been on it all winter totally fine, it has saved me loads compared to shavings

. The guy is up your way if you want his number.

Yes please, would appreciate his number as i am thinking going down the straw route would be good with my new found situation, thanks

And thanks for all your replies, not too much different from 15yrs ago really

£3 wheat and £3.50 barley - and thats buying in bulk! many of the local suppliers have none - what ireally annoying is there were a few hundred acres of straw done last year - and the big bales are STILL sat on the field! its been in the local press - seems the farmer got some defra payments etc for doing a crop - but he hasnt even bothered to move it let alone sell it....
