Last weekend I borrowed my friends little 2 horse Movano box to go to an event. I left it immaculate, with plenty of fuel when I returned. I had planned to take her out for a nice meal to thank her, but she is now ill & wont improve. She has asked for a donation, which I have no problem with, but she wont say how much & I don't know what would be deemed fair. It isn't payment for hiring box, which I didn't do nor did she ask for anything in return. This is because I can't take her out.

Explain that you were going to take her out for a meal. Offer the cost of the meal, so its around £25-£50 I guess. A nice bunch of flowers might be good too.

Going to pop round Saturday, mainly just to spend some time with her to break boredom for her of being stuck in house. Was planning on offering to come & get her to join us for a roast dinner sunday.

I think £50 is a bit exsessive. If she's a good friend i think £25 and a lovely bunch of flowers, get well card and your roast sounds perfect.

Unfortunately get well card not appropriate if you get what I mean:(

Going to get some strawberries from local farm & Cornish cream (given that's where we live) as well to go & just have a natter on Saturday. Life must be boring for a person who was so active not to be now.
