How much is he worth?

i wouldnt insure him for more than 1k as the insurance wouldnt pay out more than that for him.
as long as you have vet bills etc covered(which will be payed out the same no matter if you had 'over valued' him or not)
if you insured him for more you would just be spending more ona bigger premium and be unlikely to see the amount you have insured him for if you claimed.
 
I only insure for £1k and have done throughout the life of my mare even though she was worth a lot more. She's on the wrong side of 12yrs old now, and really all I want is the vets and tack theft insured, as she's irreplaceable to me anyway.

You're better off just leaving things be I think.
 
I agree with others, when it comes to insurance its not worth insuring him for alot (even if he is hard to replace and worth alot to you).
I have insured my 16year old TB for £250, just to cover vets fees - he jumps, dressages, hacks, played horseball internationally for GB (this is his area of expertise, teaches me a thing or two everyday).
